Sony announces movies for PS3

by David Allen

Sometime during the summer, owners of the Sony PS3 will be able to use the new movie download service.

At first the service will be launched in the US, closely followed by the UK, Europe and Japan.

The big announcement will be made next month where further details will be given on cost and exactly what will be available.

We are supposing that there will be more details released at the forthcoming E3 in Los Angeles in the US next month.

It will be interesting to see what the mix will be. Will there be any space for HD or will they be saving that one for a later announcement?

Unfortunately when these companies drop hints they normally raise more questions than answers, which is the whole point of it in the first place.

As for the timing of the availability in the UK, we can only guess at the end of the year or early part of next year.
