T Mobile offers first full HSUPA network

by David Allen

As from today, users of T Mobile will be able to benefit from being on the first network in the UK to use High Speed Uplink Packet Access (HSUPA) for its mobile broadband service.

Some mobile broadband networks already use the High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) which is great for surfing the net as it will retrieve data pretty fast, matching the higher speeds seen in the advertising that states the connection speeds can be anything up 7.2 Mbps.

But when it comes to trying to get pictures uploaded it is simply not practical.

HSUPA changes all of that. It offers the possibility of uploading speeds reaching 1.4 Mbps which is said to be close to, if not better than what can be achieved on some landline broadband connections.

At the same time T Mobile has been busy upgrading the HSDPA network too. This is said to be comparable with the maximum speeds that are available on Vodafone.
