Tesco best for email

Email is not something that normally comes up when we think of the internet; it’s there and as long as the emails get through that’s it.

But the broadband benchmark company Epitiro have gone that bit further and made a study of the performance of email from the top internet service providers.

The test was to find how many internet service providers could deliver an email within three minutes.

This test used 450 independent computers which sent emails from different locations around the country.

Tesco Broadband came out on top delivering 99.9% within three minutes.

The top five ISPs in the UK are:

Tesco Broadband (99.9%)
Virgin Media (99.8%)
Orange (99.5%)
Pipex (99.2%)
Demon (96.3%)

The average across all UK internet service providers is 95.4%.
