250GB fire and water resistant hard drive
by Janet Harris

Trojans and other malware usually springs to mind when we think of data loss, but manufacturer, SentrySafe, has taken security in a different direction with its fire-resistant and waterproof hard drive unit.
According to SentrySafe the unit can be fully submerged into water for up to 24 hours without any data loss and can withstand temperatures of up to 1550°F for around 30 minutes.
The company has just released a 250GB version, to complement an earlier 160GB model.
It features a Maxtor OneTouch 4 Mini hard drive and is powered through a USB 2.0 connection.
Software is supplied for data back-ups and the drive can be purchased online for around £200.
