BBC board scoop big bonuses
by David Allen

The Director General of the BBC has set a good example by not accepting an annual bonus payout of around £64,000, because of the financial pressures facing the BBC.
But the ten members of the BBC Board had no intention of being so humble; in fact in they pocketed anything between £17,000 and £81,000 in bonuses this year.
However it is the annual pay rises which are raising eyebrows.
The director of BBC Vision, Jana Bennett, saw her annual pay increase by £103,000 to £536,000, while Ashley Highfield, director of future media and technology, saw his total pay rise by £107,000 to £406,000, although he is now running Kangaroo.
There is even concern over the pension payouts that some directors have been given, such as Jenny Abramsky, the outgoing director of audio and music.
She got a pension pot of more than £4m which will provide her with an £190,000 annual pension.
