Snom and Konftel Get Together For Mutual Benefit

snom technology AG and Konftel AB have reached a mutual agreement on a future co-operation.

The objective of this co-operation is to share experience and technology with each other.

In April they introduced a new cordless DECT VoIP phone, the snom m3.

The mobile VoIP phone is the company’s first cordless offering and is being targeted to home offices, SMBs or enterprises.

DECT, which is short for digital enhanced cordless telecommunications, has been widely used in Europe, but has yet to take firm hold stateside as an alternative to IP voice over Wi-Fi.

Snom joins the already established ranks of Polycom, Nortel, Avaya and Aastra that have brought DECT-based devices to North America.

snom technology are specialists in VoIP telephones and Konftel centre their business around conference telephones.

“With this cooperation we can exchange knowledge that we both will benefit from,” says Peter Renkel, CEO of Konftel AB, talking about the co-operation. “We have so many things in common with snom that this partnership is bound to lead to interesting projects.”

snom VoIP telephones have a wide range of additional functions which improve everyday business communication making them particularly suited for business use.

Users benefit from the interoperability and flexibility of the telephones which can be integrated in almost all SIP based environments.

In May, the company was given the go ahead to integrate their SIP-based phones with Thompson’s CIRPACK switching system.

The past few months have seen extensive testing performed on snom’s 3xx VoIP phones, and now the results are in and the phones are fully certified as being compatible by Thompson’s Lab.

This means the super-fast delivery of Class 5 VoIP for both the corporate as well as the residential sectors.

Konftel is based in Umeå, Sweden, and is a manufacturer of conference telephones.

Konftel offers a range of products designed to meet the varying and specific needs of both small and large groups of people.

Konftel has already made other partnerships for mutual benefit including with the Alcatel Business Partner Program, and have undergone testing to guarantee that their functions are supported in Alcatel’s PBXs.

Their products have been tested by Avaya, this ensures full compatibility with their PBX system by adding Konftel’s products to the existing infrastructure it increases their range of application.

Whether the customer has an analogue, digital or DECT PBX system, or perhaps wants to use computers for online VoIP meetings, Konftel has a conference phone to match the situation.
