The sale of Tiscali drags on
by David Allen

The proposed sale of the telecoms and broadband provider Tiscali continues to drag on, despite the rumours of potential buyers and bidders coming and going.
The deal was looking to go ahead by the end of June but that was while Vodafone were interested in taking it on.
Now it seems that the sale of the company has been thrown further into the air with the Italian based internet service provider, Fastnet, saying that they are not interested in the deal for whatever reason that is.
As more ISPs pull out the choices are being reduced.
The problem that Tiscali have is that there is a lot of interest in the UK division, while the European part is not in any great demand.
The favourites for the UK part are still BSkyB and the Carphone Warehouse, although there could be more waiting on the side line.
Whatever happens now, Tiscali are looking at completing the sale sometime in August.
