BT wins kids using internet row
by David Allen

The BT Total Broadband adverts have become as popular as the old OXO adverts, with a family going about their day-to-day business with the help of BT.
But a recent advert, where the teenage daughter was seen to slam her bedroom door because she did not want her mother to see what she was doing on the internet, created a wave of complaints from people.
The complaints centred on the child safety aspect, where on the one hand parents are being told not to allow their children to use the internet in the privacy of their bedrooms, while on the other hand it seemed that BT was condoning children using the internet without their parents’ supervision.
However, despite the complaints, the Advertising Standards Agency (ASA) has given the all clear for the advert to be used.
