Broadband bandwidth demands increase
by David Allen

The demands on the internet are forever increasing, in fact in a recent study it has been found that within the next two years the demands on global bandwidth will be twice as much as they are currently.
However, it is estimated that in ten years time the bandwidth demands on a global scale could be as much as a hundred times that we are seeing now.
The demand has been put down the successes of video sharing sites like YouTube and the growth in video on demand such as that seen in the BBC’s iPlayer.
There are new technologies in development which could increase the speed of the internet to levels that we feel are impossible, which they are today.
Over the next ten years, we can expect the internet to get faster, but as the internet speeds up so do the demands on the bandwidth increase.
