Intrusive online adverts are annoying

by David Allen

The average internet user who just wants to surf the net or maybe even buy something online, there are many things that could annoy them. Nevertheless, one of the main things that will annoy an internet user is advertising, to be more precise pop ups and loud adverts.

Recent studies show that nearly three quarters of internet users leave a website that they have used before because of the amount of advertising, this compares to the same time last year where only half of the visitors left a site because of advertising.

Pop ups are considered the worst turn off for users, these used to be annoying but as browsers became more sophisticated, pop up ads were blocked.

This caused the advertisers a problem for a short while but now the pop is back. This time the pop up works within the website, this is probably even more annoying for users than a new window.
