Legal action has been started between Tiscali and BT.
This follows the complaints about the letters that BT sent out to the customers of Tiscali, as an attempt by BT, to try to force the hands of the customers in switching internet service providers.
BT’s plan was to get the customers of Tiscali to think about the future of their broadband connection, as most people know that the owners of the Italian based Telecoms Company are trying to sell it, therefore leaving their customers with no idea who they are going to be getting their broadband from in a few months time.
In the letter, BT kindly informs Tiscali’s customers how to go about preparing to switch providers and maybe they would like to consider BT as an alternative provider.
Obviously, Tiscali are none too pleased about this, calling for legal action to be started claiming defamation and falsehood. This could end up in court, if either party does not stop the legal proceedings.

Tiscali have got a nerve!!!
I was a happy Pipex user until Tiscali took them over. Without going into detail I can say that I have never seen shoddier service in all respects.
their business model can only be based on the preumption that as long as new account minus churn is positive they are viable!
After struggling even to get my mac code out of them I changed to Plusnet, a BT subsidiary and am extrememly happy.
I hope Tiscali lose any action they bring and are made to bear the costs…it would serve them right.
“business model can only be based on the preumption that as long as new account minus churn is positive they are viable!”
To be honest, doesn’t that sound like most cheap broadband providers? :)
Brian you are right but our Mr. T is, IMHO, an outrageously extreme example of the syndrome!!!!
I left Tiscali an unhappy customer – they lied to me, simple as that. No doubt Tiscali will try and screw BT for money – just like they do with their customers!!
