BT are looking to switch to full capacity on its broadband network, this would mean that there is the possibility that broadband users will be able to get a connection speed of up to 24 Mbps, that’s the great news for home and business users.
Unfortunately this is only going to happen on the network in Ireland where BT have been brought in to build a high speed broadband network, already they are able to provide up to 8 Mbps in the main areas of Dublin, Limerick and Kildare.
BT are calling this a “Radical Shake Up” which it has to be said could be true as they are virtually increasing the broadband speed by three but without increasing prices.
It is well documented that BT are planning on investing £1.5 billion in the UK, once this work has been finished it too should prove to be radical as they are promising initial speeds of up to 100 Mbps, but with the potential of reaching up to 1000 Mbps.
