Sky almost reaches 9m

It is said that when times are getting hard and there is not much cash around, people tend to stay in, this would seem to be occurring now as BSkyB are announcing that their subscribers are almost at the nine million mark.

With new sign ups at the highest they have been for some five years, they have found another 92,000 customers in the last quarter alone. This goes to prove the fact that people are staying in and clearly watching Sky TV instead of spending their cash down at the local.

The target now for Sky is to reach the ten million-subscriber mark by 2010, if things go the way that they have been, there is no reason to doubt that they will be sitting on ten million subscribers in less that eighteen months time.
