Nominum DNS Protects 120 Million From New Risk

Nominum have announced that their latest Nominum DNS software, which was used in part of a mass upgrade for carrier and Internet Service Provider customers, protected over 120 million customers worldwide from a new DNS vulnerability.

The recent announcement stamps Nominum as a big player in the internet security related software market, and as a result of their recent success, its no wonder the company holds contracts in place with around 100 carriers worldwide.

The latest piece of software, doesn’t just maintain security levels, but incorporates additional measures, including UDP Source Port Randomization which helps a user to avoid such threats as DNS cache poisoning and pharming attacks.

The Nominum story isn’t an overnight one. The company has been working hard for years, steadily developing products to be able to supply customers with not one of the best, but a far superior method of security compared to most other competitors.

Nominum does, and will continue to, supply its latest DNS software to some of the largest networks worldwide, which includes most cable operators, DSL broadband carriers and Internet service providers.

This will see their software used in half of the Internet broadband users’ computers worldwide.
