PM gets own TV channel

by David Allen

One of the leading online video platforms, Brightcove, has announced that that it will be teaming up with the media department of the Prime Minister’s office in Downing Street to produce video content.

The plan is that Downing St will be using the Brightcove video platform in an attempt to get the Prime Minister in front of as many people as possible, through as many different channels as possible.

The services available will include all of the PM’s speeches, press conferences, appearances on TV shows and access to news archives too, through the new video portal, Number10TV, on Downing Street’s website, number10.gov.uk.

Downing St has been known for its love of the media and technology and this is just another extension of this process, which has been conceived to give people access to information regarding the Prime Minister’s office without having to wait for it to appear on the news or other media outlets.
