If anyone has watched the BBC’s iPlayer and thought that maybe the quality was not up to much, then maybe it would be a good time to have another look, as the BBC have upgraded the quality of the video streams, making for a much better picture.
From now on the iPlayer will be using the more up to date H.264 and AAC+ codecs.
These will produce a high quality video stream with an end result of the viewer being able to get a better quality of picture.
This was developed initially for iPhone and iPhone users when the idea was first rolled out in March, but has soon caught on as being a good platform for all downloads, as it delivers the video at over 800 Kbps to all devices.
This may not be ideal, but what is good about it is that there is now a unified platform across the board.
