There has been a disagreement over the connection charges that mobile phone operators owe BT.
This has come about through a competition appeals tribunal where the arguments over charges made by the mobile providers between the mobile operators and BT have finally been resolved.
The tribunal has ruled that the charges should have been less and that there will have to be some reimbursement.
The whole subject of mobile termination fees that the companies charge BT and other phone providers is so complex that BT actually believes that consumers are being overcharged to the tune of almost £1 billion per year.
This ruling will set a precedent for more price cuts within the mobile telecoms sector, with the EU already taking another look at the UK mobile market.
