Ofcom looks at telecom customer services

by David Allen

There is one thing that really gets to customers apart from service interruptions is the service that they receive from the various provider’s customer service departments. This comes from the numerous surveys that often have customer services at the top of the complaint list.

In fact, many customers actually choose their phone, mobile or broadband providers on the quality of the customer services offered. For example, around forty-eight per cent of broadband customers are disappointed with their ISP’s customer’s services.

Ofcom has been operating a website that provides details on the customer’s services for a large amount of ISP’s.

It currently covers the following issues:
Service provision
Reported faults
Service restoration
Complaints
Billing accuracy
