Virgin Media wants gold medallist

by David Allen

In order to demonstrate their high speed internet Virgin Media are planning to use the Jamaican athlete Usain Bolt, who won two gold medals in the recent Beijing Olympic Games.

The plan would be so show how the Virgin Media 50 Mbps broadband service is twice as fast as anything thing else on the market, a bit like the sprinter himself.

Virgin Media are not new to using famous people in their advertising, as they have used Urma Thurman, Samuel L Jackson and Ruby Wax in their adverts in the past.

Of course, there is only one slight problem that could follow the runner into his new advertising career.

That would be the antics that got him into trouble with the IOC for dancing after each win that he had.

Virgin Media believe that their broadband service is the one that other providers have to catch, and compares the Olympic Athletes speed too.
