O2 appears at the Carphone Warehouse

by David Allen

Within a few weeks the Carphone Warehouse will begin to offer fixed line broadband provided by O2, marking the first time that O2 has entered into the fixed line broadband market through a third party retailer.

Carphone Warehouse will be the only retailer selling O2 fixed line broadband for the present, but could this be the start of a rush by ISPs to see their products placed alongside other telecom services in the High Street.

This broadband takeaway service will mean that customers can pick up the O2 box, pay the £30, this will be refunded through the first bill and the customer gets to set the home broadband up at their own leisure.

This method has been used before by other providers in not only broadband services, but also all telecoms and may prove to be a success.
