Most of Toshiba’s LCDs are fitted with the REGZA Premium 1080p LCD CineSpeed Panel. This is Toshiba’s baby that offers response times that are among the best in the industry. The Toshiba 46RV530U LCD is no difference. With this technology, the 46RV530U could give you plenty of power for even the most demanding home theater enthusiast.

The 46RV530U also incorporates PixelPure 4th Generation Digital Video Processing. Using 14-bit picture processing, PixelPure 4G can create 4096 steps of gradation for a smooth, natural-looking picture without image banding. Native Mode eliminates overscanning of 1080p inputs.

DynaLight Dynamic Backlight Control monitors the brightness level of each video frame, and automatically adjusts the backlight intensity based on the image content. Precise signal analysis affords 256 levels of backlight intensity. This creates dynamic contrast up to 5 times that of the original panel contrast, resulting in a deeper black level that increases detail and depth, even in low light environments.

And to get TV signals to this extraordinary LCD panel, the built-in NTSC/ATSC/QAM digital tuner captures over-the-air and cable standard and high definition broadcasts as well as in-the-clear digital cable programming.

The key to Toshiba’s fixed pixel picture quality is PixelPure 4G. The fourth generation of this technology combines eight different digital video processing circuits to create a consistently clearer, deeper, and more accurate picture. Another important aspect of this TV is that it’s an LCD projector, which works like a flashlight to create an image.

The white light is separated into red, green, and blue beams, which are fed separately through the panels, recombined to create the full color image, then enlarged to fill the screen. Full high definition 1080p (1920 x 1080 pixel) native resolution assures finely detailed images. This LCD projector is lightweight, but still provides rich colors and sharp contrast for a huge, high-quality image.

With the 46RV530U, the specialized gaming monitor controversy is over. Gaming Mode enhances your gaming experience by reducing the amount of time it takes for the signal to travel from the game controller to the TV for a faster response. The six TheaterWide screen modes are ideal for HDTV signals and enhanced DVDs, allowing you to crop the screen image just the way you like it.

Quality images may be what you desire most, but the audio features on this TV aren’t anything to sneeze at either. Toshiba’s 46RV530U creates dramatically improved sound with 20-watts total output delivered through a SoundStrip speaker system with SVB (surround, voice, bass) enhancement, a new speaker technology using a thin-line speaker design with enhanced dynamic range. This eliminates the big round speakers, without losing any of the big home theater sound. And for those of you who just hate it when loud commercials unexpectedly blast you out of your socks, the StableSound feature maintains the volume within a preset range, regardless of the source signal. For even better sound, you can bypass the TV’s speakers altogether using the Dolby Digital optical audio output or fixed analog audio output to connect to your home theater surround sound system.

Like all of Toshiba’s TV models, the 46RV530U offers very user-friendly features and advanced functionality that make operation a breeze, including a 4-item universal remote control that’s ergonomically designed and puts the most used functions right under your thumb.

It comes preprogrammed to operate up to four components, including a TV, DVD player, VCR, cable box, and two other audio or video components of your home theater. TheaterLink IR Pass Through uses an IR blaster (amplifier) to send commands from the remote through the TV to other home theater components, even if they’re hidden from view.

The 46RV530U has loads of inputs and outputs so you’ll have plenty of hook-up options. The easy-to-reach side HDMI and A/V inputs will let you effortlessly plug in your camcorder or video game. There are three more HDMI inputs on the back panel, two ColorStream HD component video inputs, A/V and S-Video inputs; plus audio outputs so you can be sure to get the highest quality connection allowable for your equipment. There’s even a high resolution (SXGA, 1280 x 1024) PC input (15 pin D-sub) so you can use the 46RV530U as a spectacular computer monitor.

This TV is also stacked with convenient features like Channel Browser for easily scanning through the last 32 channels you have viewed, with screen images for the last five channels displayed, by channel, by favorites, and by input, at the touch of a button; and Favorite Browser (within Channel Browser) for previewing your preset favorite channels via thumbails along the bottom of the screen.

HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is the first industry-supported, uncompressed, one-cable, all-digital audio/video connection. HDMI provides the best interface between a DVD or Blu-ray player and compatible products, such as the 46RV530U. This single interconnecting cable combines multichannel audio, uncompressed digital video, intercommunication between devices, and simple control protocols.

HDMI connections assure that all signals remain in their pure digital form and secure by use of High Definition Copy Protection (HDCP) regardless of signal output resolution. All four of the 46RV530U’s HDMI inputs are v1.3, which allows for both REGZA LINK to control other compatible components through the HDMI connection with a single remote control; and Deep Color that expands displayed colors from millions to billions and eliminates color banding by supporting 30/36/48-bit color depths.
