Freesat to boost advertising

by David Allen

This autumn will see the free satellite service Freesat begin a series of advertising campaigns, which will be aimed at introducing the service as an alternative to the other digital services available to UK viewers.

They have retained the Farm advertising agency to assist in the development of the Freesat brand; this will take place before the advertising campaigns begin.

Freesat is a joint venture between ITV and the BBC that will offer access to around two hundred channels and interactive services, all for a one off payment.

The target audience is going to be the twenty seven per cent of the population who can already receive the Freeview service, along with the owners of HD TV equipment who are in the market for a free digital service.
