Consumers switch to cut costs

The credit crunch is taking its toll on internet service providers, as there has been a marked increase in the amount of broadband customers looking around at the various packages being offered by rival broadband providers.

In research that was carried out by Froggybank.co.uk, it was found that customers have not yet reached the point where they have to decide what services to cut back on, but there are clear indications that they are looking around to see what is on offer.

According to their survey of more than 500,000 people, the amount of broadband consumers switching service providers increased by eight and half per cent in the months of May, June and July.

For the majority of these people, the primary reason for switching in the first place was to save money.
