VISTO Mobile 6 is a new method of bundled communications that aims to handle not just email and text, but an array of communications that will blur the line between mobile use and social networking.
SMS, IM and photo sharing will be available, as well as social networking and even traditional email services.
The idea is to enhance the rapidly growing mobile social networking phenomena with a one stop shop for communications.
The system will make use of their “living address book,” and expanded push mobile email and mobile social networking capabilities.
The address book will pull together all kinds of contacts in a regular address book, social media networks and other sources into an easy to use central location.
Social networking will make use of push and synchronization technology to add real time updates to their messages and social groups. The user can select to opt in or out of different updates, to avoid receiving data that they are not interested in at the moment.
Other functions include VISTO Mobile 6 email, VISTO Mobile Exchange Direct Access (EDA) for synchronization of email, contacts and calendar entries with Microsoft Exchange.
Further, VISTO Mobile EDA uses Outlook Web Access (OWA) interface which requires no software behind the corporate firewall.
The overall idea is that it links together different communication facilities as well as social media outlets in a seamless and simple solution for keeping in touch with real and virtual friends in one unit.
