Tilgin & Nordija Contract HD IPTV For Tre-for

Big time multiplay and next-generation broadband player, Tilgin, has joined up with independent software vendor Nordija.

The companies hope to produce new middleware for IPTV solutions for the Danish utility company TRE-FOR.

They intend to create a solution that is designed purely for TRE-FOR’s needs in the delivery of HD IPTV to its customers.

TRE-FOR needs the new middleware to work in unison with Tilgin’s IP Set-top media centre, for which they placed a significant order last month.

TRE-FOR is a multi-faceted corporation involved in water, electricity and heating and is the largest utility company in Denmark.

The company operates broadband services under the name Profiber. Utility companies are the major broadband suppliers in the country.

Profiber supplies high speed Internet, attractive TV programs and low-cost telephony via an optical fibre network.

The company has around 140,000 residential clients for these services, but the new set-up would give them access to another quarter of a million subscribers, offering them multi-play services though other utility company’s broadband systems.
