Mobile broadband to get a big push

In one of those industry get togethers, the big names in mobile broadband, software and laptop manufacturers are putting their collective heads together to come up with a branding mark that will show consumers that the product is mobile broadband ready.

This is now a standard across the board, and as there are already brand marks for most services such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and HD, it is only natural that the industry should select an icon that fits the mobile broadband image.

At the moment the most popular way of connecting to a mobile broadband network is through an external modem or dongle as they have become known, but as the mobile broadband technology becomes integrated it is then when it needs to be clear what the laptop is capable off.
