BT sells the iPlate to ISPs

The iPlate has become famous for improving the speed of some broadband connections.

BT and some retailers have been selling this device for some time, but now BT has announced that they are now selling the iPlate directly to internet service providers.

BT claims that the iPlate could improve connection speeds by an average of 1.5 Mbps.

It works by isolating the bell wire within the phone cable.

However, it will only improve speeds in older properties where the phone cables have been in place for a number of years.

It is expected that some ISP’s could be handing out the £10 device to their customers at no cost in an attempt to boost their networks overall performance.

Customers are warned to check with their ISP before ordering the iPlate to make sure that they will benefit from having installed.
