Parents fail to monitor kids online

by David Allen

With the recent announcement from the government that they intend to provide broadband access to all children, regardless of where they live or their circumstances, there is a worrying report that concludes that parents are not monitoring their children’s internet activities properly.

With a sudden increase in younger users this should be concerning everyone, not just parents.

With the younger internet users often being more tech savvy than their parents, there are all sorts of implications that not only put the youngsters at risk, but could potentially affect the wealth of the parents too.

Within the report, it was noted that up to forty eight per cent of young internet users are actively downloading music.

It stands to reason that there are the temptations to share music and that leads to other problems.

Therefore, by not keeping a close eye on the kid’s internet activities, parents are running a risk too.
