New CableLabs 2.0 Specs Met By IMAKE

CableLabs 2.0 specifications are a set of spec’s that are intended to unify some aspects of transport and storage of metadata.

The hope is that content creation and distribution to content providers will benefit from a solution that standardises a system that is at present somewhat varied.

The industry as a whole backed the proposals, as all sides can see the cost and technical advantages of everyone “singing from the same hymn sheet”.

IMAKE Software has created a video on demand platform that meets these new specs.

The OpenVision Content Creator v4.5/v4.6 is intended to also assist with smooth management, distribution, delivery and creation of content.

There is now a remote viewing and editing feature that makes these functions possible through MPEG-2/H.264 editing tools.

The new toy also easily integrates with Scopus and EGT encoders, Rhozet and Telestream transcoders as well as providing support for Leitch broadcast equipment so that it can be used with these popular tools.

The company is planning that by next year the Content Creator will be capable of dealing with the insertion of advertising, as well as SCTE triggers into content.

At present it supports open system XML advertisement exporting.
