Virgin email suffers from spam attack
by David Allen

Customers of Virgin Media ADSL broadband have had their email limited or in some cases were unable to access their emails at all over a four day period.
It is believed that an extensive spam attack was the cause of this problem, which has now been sorted out.
The email delay lasted for around a four day period, but this was simply a delay as no emails were lost.
Virgin has around two hundred thousand customers on ADSL and it has been estimated that around half of those were affected by this problem.
Many of Virgin Media’s customers have been left on hold to the technical help line, some for hours to no avail.
However this problem did not hit those customers who are connected to Virgin Media cable.
There has been a mention that normal service will not be resumed until the 30th October.
