BBC shows Scotland's History in HD
by Janet Harris

BBC Scotland is launching a 10-part TV series which will bring Scotland’s history to life in high definition.
‘A History of Scotland’, which was shot entirely in HD, was produced by the BBC in partnership with the Open University.
It is part of a multi-media project which also includes a website, interactive game, audio walks, concerts and other events.
The project aims to use the latest technology to engage people of all ages, and from all walks of life, in the subject.
The first episode of ‘A History of Scotland’, which will be presented by archaeologist Neil Oliver, will be shown on Sunday 9th November, at 9pm on BBC Scotland and BBC HD.
It will also be broadcast on BBC Two at a later time.
The project aims to introduce lesser know characters from Scotland’s history, including Ead, Giric and King Constantine, as well as more familiar names such as Mary, Queen of Scots.

Well, so much for this being broadcast on BBC HD. Instead, the BBC decided to show something called “Walters War”, and we’re left wondering whether to watch the SD version on BBC1, or wait and hope that the BBC will eventually broadcast this in HD.
