Sky have added the BBC iPlayer to their own on demand service which is surprisingly named Sky Player.
This will allow Sky to broaden its content and in turn bring in some more users, or rather prevent their customers from leaving to go to the BBC.
The Sky Player is very similar to other on demand services, expect it gives non subscribers the opportunity to view programmes which are only available on Sky, such as Lost and Stargate Atlantis.
With this done, most internet service providers offer their subscribers direct access to the iPlayer, all apart from Tiscali who were very vocal as to the traffic that the iPlayer used, especially when it was first released nearly a year ago.
