Mobile broadband sales up in September

by David Allen

Sales of mobile broadband dongles continue to rise despite the financial crisis that has gripped the nation.

During September there were almost one hundred and fifty thousand USB modems sold, which is considerably higher than the fifty five thousand dongles that were sold in January of this year.

However these latest figures do not compare with the one hundred and sixty three thousand dongles sold in July. This proved to be the all time high so far according to data published by market experts GfK.

There will no doubt be an increase in sales of mobile broadband services in the lead up to the festive season, especially as there are so many offers which include a laptop into the deal.

At the moment, seventy six per cent of mobile broadband users are on contracts, while the other twenty four per cent are on pay as you go.
