New Processor Capable of 1.5 Billion Decisions Per Sec

NetLogic has announced the launch of its fifth-generation knowledge-based processor under the badge NL91024XT.

This new processor is a hybrid which is fully programmable and capable of converging high-performance with very low power usage and Sahasra algorithmic technology.

The new processors are capable of dealing with 1.5 billion decisions each second; they have also been built to work faster with100Gbps systems.

They will be used mainly in the fields of IPTV and next generation mobile wireless networks.

The company claim that the new processor, when married to an Intelligent Load Balancing Engine, is capable of effective bandwidth speeds in the region of 150Gbps which would be highly effective for fast routing and switching.

This would very much favour IPTV providers and peer-to-peer (P2P) communications.

The new unit integrates 128 knowledge-based processing engines and provides enhanced allocation of multiple tasks via ILBE.
