USwitch highlights broadband usage confusion

A new survey carried out by consumer group USwitch has found that one million UK consumers have either exceeded or nearly exceeded their broadband usage limit.

Most ISPs set a cap on the amount of monthly bandwith available, depending on which package a customer chooses.

However, the research found that this causes confusion as some services which are actually advertised as unlimited, are still subject to these usage limitations.

Exceeding the limit can result in the service being cut off, and with more and more people working from home, the implications of this are obviously serious.

uSwitch found that 80% of UK broadband customers were confused over their bandwith usage limit, so there is obviously a need for ISPs to make the terms of their offers much clearer to consumers.
