A survey conducted on behalf of IFS, a developer of enterprise resource planning solutions, has highlighted the role that personalising software and integrating multimedia web content can play in improving workplace productivity and collaboration.
On behalf of IFS, Omniboss and Survey Monkey surveyed IT professionals from North America, UK and Scandinavia, of which 80% said the ability to personalise the software they work with was a key factory in enabling them to be more productive.
Alastair Sorbie, CEO at IFS said: “No two individuals use a computer or the software installed on that computer in the same way. The ability to tailor user screens, adapt menus and access information in a way that supports the routines and roles of each individual is vital to getting the ultimate balance of functionality and usability that makes enterprise applications quicker and easier to use”.
The survey also found that 78% of respondents would like to be able to use mash-ups – a combination of web resources pulled from different sources – within business applications.
