IBM study on mobile broadband
by David Allen

In a report by computer firm IBM, they compare consumers who use either mobile broadband or fixed line broadband access.
The two cannot be really compared like for like as they offer different services, but for a basic internet user who is looking to surf the internet and check their emails, then the services provided could be compared.
The main find from this study is that over fifty per cent of those consumers who took part would prefer to use mobile broadband or a mobile device to access the internet, rather than using a desk top PC.
The IBM study also found that within three years the mobile web market is set to grow at a rate of around thirty six per cent as more entertainment services are packed into mobile devices. These will include information, communication, travel and navigation.
