The social networking site Twitter has been “Red Teamed” by the US Army, which has claimed that it could be a possible tool for terrorists to use.
Red teamed means that the military use army personnel to sign up to the network and see if there are any weaknesses.
The US Army says that Twitter could be used for the following actions:
All of these claims are valid apart from the detonating of a bomb. Why would they want to do it that way when a mobile phone can be used just as easily?
However, the other two points are valid concerns and could apply to any social networking site.
The fear here is what is the military going to do about it?
