Just when it seemed to have been dying a slow death, the sale of Tiscali has all of a sudden moved back into the headlines. This time it would appear that broadband and satellite provider Sky, could be interested in taking on Tiscali.
Obviously, it is early days, and this so called sale of Tiscali has been going around the block for some time now, yet this does seem to be on the cards for an estimated £450 million, and once the company has done their homework then there should be no reason as to why this deal would not go ahead.
Tiscali has around 3.6 million customers, made up from those directly signed to Tiscali and then the customers of Nildram, Pipex, HomeChoice and Freedom2Surf.
By taking this on Sky would become the third largest internet service provider in the UK and have the perfect platform for the launch of video on demand.
