50 Mbps for University Students
by David Allen

Students at Leicester University are to benefit from the university’s first venture into third party provision of internet services.
Ask4, the Sheffield based internet service provider, has been asked to provide this service in the student accommodation buildings.
Ask4 offer a wide range of packages depending on what the student requires. These start at an up to 2 Mbps, but an optional up to 10 Mbps upgrade package is available.
However, it is their high speed broadband which is causing interest, as up to 50 Mbps could be available.
The company already provide broadband to around three thousand students in the area who are currently in private accommodation, and have seen their student user base increase from twenty thousand to thirty four thousand in the past year alone.
