Cheap Video Conferencing With Skype
by Alan Harten
StoneVoice has announced a new version of SkyStone, their Skype Video gateway.
In addition to traditional voice calls via Skype, companies will be capable of conference calls and phone calls with the addition of video, making it possible for multiple users in different locations to be able to see and hear each other.
According to the company, one of the main advantages of the system is that it is very simple to use with high-quality audio and video.
Calling an employee, customer, or business associate is equally as simple with video enabled as it is with a normal voice telephone call.
One of the main markets that the company is hoping to break into will be the commercial Contact Centre arena.
This is an area where video conferencing has been discussed for some time but has been difficult to implement because of technical problems and the high cost of implementation. The company says that SkyStone will make it practical for customers contacting a company’s call centre to use the Skype free client and webcam making video calls to company cost centre a viable solution.
