Orange must feel that there is something wrong with UK consumers, because Orange TV is a great success in France but here in the UK, despite a series of delays, the provider has now decided to shelve plans for this service because it is too similar to the service offered by BT Vision.
With their broadband user base getting smaller, Orange is now going to focus on their core product, broadband.
They have fallen to sixth place in the UK league of internet service providers and with Tiscali looking for a buyer it would seem that consolidation is the keyword of the moment.
So to that end Orange are going to slow down their fixed broadband rollout in order to concentrate on offering a quality service for the customers that they already have.
By focusing on quality of service the company hopes to not only keep its existing customers, but to increase their numbers.
