Allio All-in-one HD LCD-TV launched
US-based Silicon Mountain Holdings, Inc has launched the Allio 32 and 42-inch All-in-one HD LCD-TV.

The innovative TV features an integrated DVD/Blu-Ray player, a PVR and a High-performance PC based on an Intel Core2Duo E8400 processor, and has a huge 500 GB storage capacity for storage of documents and media.

A neat feature of the device is the ability to split the screen and use each side for a different activity – watching TV while surfing the web for instance.

The split screen function will also be useful for carrying out related tasks, such as watching live sport while sharing comments on the game with friends via AOL instant messenger or Skype.

As well as the usual analog and digital audio-video inputs, Allio has wireless and wired networking capabilities and several USB ports for the attachment of peripherals and other computers.

Silicon Mountain is the first ever company to develop a converged HDTV and PC with Blu-Ray, and the device can be ordered now at the Visionman website

A wireless keyboard and mouse are included with the system which starts at $1,599.99 and increases to $2,799 for the highest spec.

For those on a budget Silicon Mountain is developing lower cost versions based on the Ubuntu Linux operating system.
