The development of Gmail continues as Google announces that they are adding a voice and video chat feature to the service. Naturally, this is going to be free to use and it will let users of this service use their webcam in conjunction with the Gmail service or even set up a live chat.
Interested Gmail user will need to download the browser plug in, this will allow the user to install and use this service with their Gmail account; it will not be available as a stand alone service, which is only to be expected.
The plug in is fully compatible with both of the latest Mac and Windows browsers, such as Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox and of course Google Chrome.
With webcams having a revival, it is a good time to be bringing out a feature like this for Gmail.
