Wii Fit to be the Christmas top seller

Every year, in the run up to Christmas, there is always one product which looks as if it is going to out strip everything else.

This year it looks as if the winner by a long way is going to be the Nintendo Wii games console.

How it is possible to know about what is going to be a hit, is down to the amount of searches for a particular item.

In this case, in a report from Hitwise, it is the Wii that is heading off everything else with one in six searches for video games in October being for the Nintendo unit.

However, they may not be getting it all their way, as there is some competition from the Apple iPhone and the Nokia N96.

Whether these customers are directly influenced by each other is another matter. They would seem to attract their own market rather than directly competing against each other.
