Tiscali, the broadband, telephone, TV and media company, today announces that, following its retail distribution deal with leading electrical retailer DSG international plc (DSGi), DSGi’s Currys and PC World stores across the UK will be offering a free Tiscali+ digital recorder set top box to customers signing up to the Tiscali TV, and broadband with free line rental and calls package between now and 31st December.

Just in time for the festive season, Tiscali+ also offers the ability to pause and rewind live TV, allowing viewers to check on the seasonal preparations without missing any Christmas classics. Offering 50 hours of programme recording and able to record two programmes simultaneously while watching a third, Tiscali+ may put an end to one unofficial Christmas tradition – the family argument about what to watch and when.

Steve Horley, Managing Director of Tiscali UK’s consumer business, says: “We are delighted to be able to run this exclusive offer with DSGi stores. Tiscali TV combined with Tiscali+ is a great gift for all the family. Personal Video Recorders have been high on the Christmas list in recent years so it is fantastic for us to be able to offer even better value for money for customers wanting access to digital TV, broadband and voice packages during the festive season for little more than you will pay for a simple broadband package.”

Families can also entertain kids of all ages with the tailored Kids and Music Packs for an extra £6 a month each. Kids can keep themselves busy with endless Thomas the Tank Engine or SpongeBob SquarePants and get their very own Minimote, which only allows them access to the children’s channels, while teenagers can build their own music video playlists from the 8,000+ music videos available in its VMX Central.

Horley continues: “Tiscali TV is the most flexible digital TV service in the market with 7 day catch up on favourite from the BBC and Channel 4, plus an amazing array of on demand TV series including Spooks, Desperate Housewives, Scrubs and Ugly Betty along with the most comprehensive On Demand Movies service offering up to 1,500 top films. With Tiscali+ now free at Currys and PC World, it couldn’t be a better time to get set for great Christmas TV and avoid the traditional ‘Turkeys’.”
