Openreach cuts prices

The cost of moving electronic data around the country is about to get a lot cheaper thanks to BT Openreach, who will be cutting the prices of these service with immediate effect.

The services affected by these price changes will be the BT Openreach’s WES, WEES and BES products.

These are mainly used in providing the middle services, which would include mobile base stations and corporate LANS, so there is little chance that these price changes will have any effect on domestic consumers’ broadband bills.

The price changes will be as follows:

BES 1 Gb will go down by 62% and rental price will drop by 31%
WES/WEES will see the 100 Mb service reduced to the same price as the 10 Mb an actual reduction of around 43% and 14% for the rental
BES 100 Mb will be reduced to same level as BES 10 Mb, in real terms meaning a saving of 65% and around 26% on the rental price
