A laptop for life
by David Allen

It’s called the Laptop4Life scheme and that would seem to be exactly what it is.
Fujitsu Siemens are offering this deal with any of their Lifebook range of laptop computers.
It works on a simple principle - buy one machine and get another new laptop every three years for the rest of your life.
Sound too good to be true? Well it is what it says, although there are a couple of conditions.
-
The laptop must be registered within twenty one days of purchase.
At the end of the three year period, the original receipt must be produced.
The machine must be in good condition.
Laptops under this deal cannot be transferred to new owners.
The user has to take out a three year extended warranty.
Apart from those conditions, the user will be able to get their hands on the brand new machine every three years with no extra charge, apart from the cost of the extended warranty.

This just proves that the extended warranties are a rip off and not value for money’
Firtsly, the extended warranty cost will obviously have to include the cost of the new hardware replacement; are people really that stupid that they think the costs will not have to come from somewhere? whatever happened to the old adage “if it seems too good to be true?”
