Free Wi-Fi at Adidas sports centres

The Olympics may be in 2012 but the benefits of having such a large event in the UK could be paying off, as a deal between sportswear giant Adidas and BT will be bringing to adiZones to the capital.

However, the deal is limited to the London boroughs of Greenwich, Newham and Waltham Forest, as these areas are in the Olympic zone and have been targeted as being deprived areas.

The specialised outside sports centres which will be known as adiZones, are part of the £1 million sponsorship deal that Adidas have committed to for the event.

Within the adiZone visitors will be able to play games online, make free phone calls through VOIP, check their emails or just surf the net using the BT Openzone Wi-Fi broadband service, all for free.

This is supposed to be a way to get the people of these areas involved in the Olympic event, with free sports events provided by the local authorities also being offered at the sites.
