Digital divide costing parents over Christmas
by David Allen

The internet service provider Be Broadband has been putting some Christmas shopping lists together in order to see if there really is a difference between the high street and online prices.
The list, which included a gift for all the family, came out at £876 in the high street, but by using the internet for the exact same products, the final price came in at £591 a saving of £285, that’s thirty two per cent cheaper than the high street stores.
With the cost of Christmas expected to be reduced this year, it is clear that families who use the internet can cut down on the expense but still buy the same products, whereas those who are without access to the internet will be forced to either cut back or pay higher prices thanks to the digital divide.
